Pocono 2019 Liveries – Paint Schemes

by The Earl of Indy, Robert Earl |

All of the NTT IndyCar Series Championship contenders will be in familiar colors, just a couple will have different sponsors for the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono.

Let us bring you up to speed on the announcements that have been made over the past week.

Simon Pagenaud

Penske Truck Leasing (PTL), a leading transportation services company, will be the primary sponsor of the No. 22 Penske Truck Rental Dallara / Chevrolet driven by 2019 Indianapolis 500 winner Simon Pagenaud of Team Penske for the IndyCar Series race weekend at Pocono Raceway. Pennsylvania is the home state for PTL.

The blue number and Penske Truck Leasing logos remind me of cars driven by Al Unser, Sr. in the past.

Simon took to Twitter to make the announcement in conjunction with Team Penske.

Alexander Rossi

Rossi will have a familiar blue car with the MilitarytoMotorsports.com program being spotlighted.

Andretti Autosport?s MilitarytoMotorsports.com hiring initiative will be back on the No. 27 racing machine as Alexander Rossi looks to defend his 2018 win at Pocono Raceway. Painted in red, white and blue, the No. 27 MilitaryToMotorsport.com Honda will race to bring awareness to the program that works to place retired and separated military personnel into the civilian workforce.

Since founded in 2017 by Andretti Autosport and retired U.S. Navy Veteran David Tilton, Military to Motorsports has partnered with various Andretti sponsors to help place qualified candidates into open positions within their companies. MilitaryToMotorsports.com has received over 100  resumes and has helped place numerous veterans in positions within the race team and its extended network of partners.

Colton Herta

Capstone Turbine will grace the sides of the 88 machine for Harding Steinbrenner Racing for the last 4 races of the year with a clean white and green lettered machine highlighted (and I mean HIGHLIGHTED) by the dayglo orange suspension parts and wheels. This car should be sharp and it will be interesting to see how Herta does particularly the next two weeks on ovals.

Charlie Kimball

While not necessarily a new livery, it will be nice to see Kimball back on the track with Carlin Racing. The #23 machine has run well in the past at Pocono and Carlin hopes that 2019 will be more of the same.

Conor Daly

Speaking of Carlin Racing, Conor Daly will return to pilot the #59 machine sponsored by Gallagher Global. Daly is slated to be in the car at Pocono and for the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Axalta and Valvoline at the World Wide Technology Raceway.

Ed Carpenter

I should have bookmarked the images when I saw them, but Carpenter will be returning to the track driving a red Sonax sponsored car. I will post images when I see them.
